The reason why i have placed a definition of the term 'joke' on the front page of kittensdirect.com is to explain both that kittensdirect.com is a joke, and, just in case it should prove necessary, exactly what is meant by this phrase 'kittensdirect.com is a joke'. A 'joke' is as defined above. 'kittensdirect.com' is this website. Both 'a joke', and 'kittensdirect.com' are the same thing, and that thing is the same as any other thing which may be defined as 'a joke', such as: "Knock knock. Who's there? Boo. Boo Who? etc".

It has, sadly, recently come to my attention that at least one resident of this planet is in need of such an explanation. I apologise if this rather protracted explanation has detracted from your enjoyment of the site but, since the individual in question did rather imply that the alternative was to invite some sort of unspecified attack by animal rights extremists, it's better to spell it out.
